Ferroli
Brief History of Ferroli
The company FERROLI was founded by Mr. Dante Ferroli in the Italian city of San Bonifacio in 1955. Initially, the firm was a small workshop for processing iron and copper. When gasification reached San Bonifacio, Dante took on the maintenance of the city’s gas network and converted the first wood-burning boiler into a gas boiler, marking a turning point for the region and beyond. While Ferroli’s first gas boiler was exhibited at the Milan fair, the company received an order to supply boilers for 500 apartments in Verona.
FERROLI’s products began to gain fame and were increasingly recognized in the Italian market. In 1961, the industrial era and internationalization of the newly established company began, and as Dante Ferroli set no limits or boundaries, Mr. Omens from AGPO returned to the Netherlands with two prototypes of Ferroli boilers. Shortly afterward, the Dutch company became one of Ferroli’s main foreign partners.
In 1965, Ferroli decided to enter the Spanish market, establishing a factory in Burgos for the production of boilers and radiant heaters. Over the following decades, Ferroli Spagna became one of the main hubs in the group’s industrial universe.
Also in 1965, the company acquired the steelworks IMA (Industrie Meccaniche di Alano Srl) in Alano di Piave, Italy, which allowed the company to become independent from suppliers of cast iron blanks. Today, the IMA factory produces a full range of aluminum and steel radiators under the FERROLI and IMA brands.
In 1970, FERROLI’s first European branch was opened - Ferroli France Sarl in the city of Saint-Michel, France. Continuous investments in factories, openness to technological development, and consolidation throughout Western Europe confirmed the entrepreneurial genius of Dante Ferroli, who once again foresaw market trends and built the first wall-mounted cast iron boiler.
In the early 1990s, FERROLI set its strategic goal of implementing modern technologies. Ferroli’s designers were the first in Italy to develop a wall-mounted gas boiler with a copper heat exchanger. In this way, the company began a strong recovery, which, thanks to visionary investments, laid the foundation for significant development toward Eastern Europe.
With the acquisition of a heating systems company, Ferroli Industry was established in Dresden, further confirming Ferroli Group’s expansion into Turkey, Romania, and Poland. In 1994, Ferroli’s Xignal was awarded as the best European boiler! Equipped with internal self-diagnostics, the boiler outperformed English and French competitors. The following year, shortly after being honored as Cavaliere del Lavoro, Dante Ferroli ventured into the industrial heating and air-conditioning sector.
In 1998, the group became the first Italian company with a continuously operating website and established itself as a multinational company in the field of well-being and home comfort.
An innovative development program was launched, involving substantial investments in industrial production. FERROLI acquired factories and opened branches in several European countries, as well as in China. FERROLI has now become a group of companies under the unified name – FERROLI GROUP. The goal has always been the same: to introduce innovations in the heating and comfort sector through continuous development and the production of high-quality products, reliable and usable worldwide.
From its headquarters in San Bonifacio (Virginia), FERROLI oversees the global activities of its European and Asian facilities, along with its sales network consisting of 12 direct subsidiaries and 2,116 employees.
The group owns iconic brands like Lamborghini CaloreClima, Ferroli, Isea, Cointra, which are always benchmarks in terms of brand image, technology, and design.
The continuous process of improvement toward innovative technologies, energy efficiency solutions, and climate protection has built FERROLI’s reputation as one of the leaders in its sector.
The extensive product range is undoubtedly well-known for its technical features, performance, and the expansion of its commercial offerings. Over the years, the product range has evolved from a single product to a set of services integrated with customer needs.
The efforts in research and development are significant: through multiple R&D centers worldwide, over 90 engineers work to meet the current and future expectations of customers, always providing the best in terms of product quality, efficiency, and low environmental impact.
Modern Production of Ferroli
Today, FERROLI is one of the few manufacturers producing a full range of heating and climate control equipment: from basic electric water heaters and gas boilers to industrial chillers and air conditioners. All products manufactured by the company can be classified into several major production groups:
- heating equipment;
- climate control equipment;
- radiators;
- electric water heaters.
The heating sector forms 86% of the company’s total turnover and combines two segments: domestic and industrial. The domestic line produces a wide range of equipment: wall-mounted and floor-standing gas boilers, electric water heaters, and indirect heating boilers. The main distinctive feature of FERROLI’s wall-mounted boilers is the unique copper heat exchanger, developed and patented by the company. The industrial segment is especially proud of the company’s reliable and economical steam boilers, which have proven themselves well in both the European and Russian markets.
The climate control equipment of the FERROLI brand is also produced in two directions: domestic and industrial. The domestic production line includes split systems at various levels, low-power chillers, and fan coil units. The industrial segment focuses on the production of high-power chillers, cassette split systems, fan units, and central air conditioners. Radiators are produced in two factories in Alano di Piave and San Bonifacio in three versions: steel, aluminum, and cast iron.
Electric water heaters – a new direction in the company’s activities – are manufactured in one of FERROLI’s most modern factories in Guangdong Province, China.

Pellet Boilers
The new FERROLI SUN PELLET sets include: a cast iron SUN PELLET boiler, a SUN P12 N pellet burner, and a FERROLI hopper. They are economical and reliable. Specially designed elements of the pellet boiler and the good distribution of gases in the chamber, along with low water content, ensure excellent heat exchange and low thermal inertia. The combustion chamber is fully moistened, guaranteeing a long lifecycle and high efficiency.
SUN PELLET boilers have a control panel located on the boiler. They offer power ranges from 30 kW to 48 kW and work with the FERROLI SUN P7 N or FERROLI SUN P12 N pellet burners. SUN PELLET boilers are made from high-quality cast iron ribs, capable of withstanding high thermal loads and fluctuations, connected with nipples. FERROLI SUN PELLET boilers come with a hopper with a pellet capacity ranging from 195 to 350 liters.
Pellet Burners
SUN P N is a pellet burner with high efficiency, low emissions of CO and NOx, and a very quiet flame, suitable for most solid fuel boilers available on the market. FERROLI SUN P7 N pellet burners have a capacity ranging from 14 kW to 34 kW. FERROLI SUN P12 N pellet burners have a capacity ranging from 30 kW to 55 kW. Depending on the needs of the heating system, the burner can be adjusted to match the required power. FERROLI SUN P N pellet burners have five power levels and a modulating operating mode. They can work with a wired or wireless programmable room thermostat, GSM module, and internet thermostats.
